Little Ripples has created this heartwarming folk album with the intention for children and their families to enjoy listening to music together! Recorded predominantly live in Whangārei’s ‘Old Library’ the albums engineers Alex Selman and Sam Benge have captured the unique acoustics of this beautiful space through the use of over 20 mic’s positioned throughout the building. The combination of rich three part harmonies and lush instrumentation has the been complimented by sweet children’s vocals and field recordings layered into the songs at Anzac Rd Studio.
It’s our mission to promote children’s well-being through beautiful music using our songs inspired by our experience as parents and teachers and developed over the past 8 years. We have road tested our music for local audiences in Whangārei through play centres, kindergartens, child care centres and primary schools and are ready to launch our music to a wider audience.

The saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ resonates with our values as parents raising our family. This musical project has been our baby for many years and the love, energy, talents and support our dearest friends and family have poured into it make it the beautiful heart warming album that it is. Andy and Robyn, Alex and Jacinda, Erin and Bruce thank you for raising this musical baby with us! It has been an incredible experience to create this album with you and it’s hard to find words that could sufficiently articulate how much love and gratitude we have for you all. Love and thanks also to our family and friends who have egged us on, stoked the home fires and cared for our kids so we could create. Everyone needs a village, thank you for being ours!
